Paul Pogba Sends A Text Message To Ed Woodward

Paul Pogba has told Ed Woodward and his Manchester United team-mates he is desperate to join Barcelona, according to reports.

The playmaker is hot property after a World Cup winning campaign for France in Russia this summer. Barcelona lodged a transfer bid for Pogba and the player’s Mino Raiola is in Manchester trying to convince the club to sell their record signing.

The Daily Mail claim Pogba sent a text to executive vice-chairman Woodward telling him of his desire to leave United this week.

Pogba returned to pre-season training on Monday and revealed to staff and teammates he wants to be sold to Barcelona. United shut down Barcelona’s initial approach and have refused to entertain the prospect of Pogba leaving.

The English transfer window closes on Thursday and United would struggle to find a replacement for Pogba before the deadline.

Despite the race against time, Pogba has reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona and will pocket £346,000 a week at the Nou Camp if he does exit Old Trafford. Pogba is ‘disillusioned’ with life in Manchester after a season of being at odds with Mourinho.

Mourinho suggested Pogba played better for France because there were fewer distractions in the bubble of a World Cup. United kick off the new Premier League season against Leicester City on Friday at Old Trafford.
