Transfer News Update: Perisic ‘Will join’, £134m Barcelona Claim, Striker Prediction

Barcelona are hoping to secure the signing of Manchester United star Paul Pogba within the next two weeks, it has been claimed.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away this summer amid suggestions that he’s unhappy at Old Trafford.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Barca are leading the chase as they look to add creativity to their midfield to replace outgoing legend Andres Iniesta.

And according to Don Balon, a Spanish outlet famous for its outlandish transfer claims, Barca want to wrap up a deal within the next two weeks.

United reportedly want £134m for the French World Cup winner

Jose Mourinho

United’s next signing will be a striker, Sky Sports pundit and former Red Devil Michael Appleton has predicted.

“It seems they are looking for a striker at this moment in time,” Appleton said on Sky Sports.

“I’ve heard him talking about them needing more firepower.

“You look at the disappointment they had towards the end of the season in the FA Cup.

“Some of the young players that have come in, the likes of (Marcus) Rashford, they’ve got a year more experience.

“I think it will be a striker and I think that will be the only signing they make.”

Ivan Perisic

United boss Mourinho will finally land Inter star Ivan Perisic this summer, according to ESPN FC pundit Stewart Robson.

The Red Devils wanted the Croatia international last summer but failed to convince Inter Milan to sell.

“Alexis Sanchez plays in his position,” he said. “He [Sanchez] didn’t do particularly well last season.

“Perisic, there was talk about him going to Manchester United last year.

“I think he had a good enough World Cup for Manchester United to be interested again.

“I think he will go to United and he will be a hit.”
