Lampard slams PSG after Madrid defeat

Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, has slammed Paris Saint-Germain after their Champions League round-of-16 elimination at the hands of Real Madrid.
Lampard was not happy with the way PSG approached the game.
He said that the Ligue 1 giants ‘threw the towel in the second half’.
“I don’t think they went out like a big team,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“A big team goes with some tackles. It might look great on the eye but you have a right go. But they threw the towel in the second half.”
Meanwhile, PSG went into the second leg trailing 3-1 on aggregate, but with home advantage and an away goal, victory over Zinedine zidane’s men was still a possibility, even without injured star player, Neymar.
The Parisians suffered a 2-1 loss at the Parc des Princes to fall to Madrid 5-2 on aggregate as their wait for a first Champions League continues.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro scored either side of Edinson Cavani’s strike, while PSG had Marco Verratti sent off.

  1. Disappointing result after being such a commanding position. Lampard nailed it on motd, however can”t help thinking Shelvey was still replaying his miss when he should have been focused on defending and protecting what we had. online
