Thiago Alcantara 98: Current Top 100 Footballers

Today we bring you our 98th player, of the 100 top players. A graduate of Guardiol’s Barcelona Tikitaka. This fine footballer is an amazing ball distributor. In Barcelona, he was that player they counted on to do the work of a joker. He wasn’t a regular regular. Yet we knew he was an asset. So when he had the opportunity to join Bayern Munich, he took it with both hands and foot.

What the experts say about him: The son of the former Brazil international Mazinho missed the best part of two important years of his development with a troublesome right knee but has now become a regular in the Bayern Munich midfield. Yet any hopes Pep Guardiola may have had of buying him for a second time after luring him to Munich from Barcelona were dealt a blow when he split from his agent brother Pere in October, with Alcântara’s father now set to take over. At his best, he remains one of the best passers in the business but now needs to take more games by the scruff of the neck in order to move to the next level.
